How to transfer tracks to SD card on my Garmin 60CSX

Hello,
I had a Garmin 60CSX and it died.
Before it did, I saved everything I could on it, and now I have a new one.
So, I'm trying to put my tracks on there.
Created a big one on BaseCamp and trying to import it to the new 60CSX.
However, it is too big for the internal memory and must be installed on the SD card (micro)
I can't figure out how to do this.
Help just leads me to this forum.
Can anyone help with this problem?
Thanks in advance.
  • The GPSMAP 60CSx cannot read tracks (or routes/waypoints) from the SD card, so putting them there is rather useless...

You are also limited to 20 tracks of up to 500 points each. You need to use a program (Basecamp or similar) to transfer the tracks to the unit.

Newer units allow large tracks and large number and can also use the SD card. The 60csx is from a time before....

True, you can transfer up to 20 tracks to the unit itself and they''ll be truncated to 500 points each. That said if the track name is "ACTIVE LOG" you can transfer up to 10,000 points but those will be overwritten if track logging is enabled. At least that works with MapSource--not sure about BaseCamp.
