Displaying POIs

As far as I know I have not changed preferences but icons for POIs I want no longer show on the map regardless of the zoom level. I just want lodging, fuel, dining and hospitals. I looked at the display preferences and can not figure out what to do. Do I want a check mark, dash, or blank box to have the icon show on the map? If I put "display" in the search for Basecamp nothing is found.

I'm using Mac OS X 10.7.5; BaseCamp 4.2.4; Map City Navigator North America NT 2013.4.

By the way the Map Updater has not shown anything for some time now.

In the Windows version I'd suggest you check Activity Profiles, Map Display Features ... does the mac version have something similar? If so then you need to check the correct box for it to display.
