Track turned grey and won't go away.

I used the Track tool to draw a planned walking track. Saved it as an Adventure. Now I want to draw a new planned track, but old one has turned grey and I can't get rid of it.

This may be due to the selection of list that you currently have. If you choose a different list on the left-hand-side does this get rid of the track displayed on the map? BaseCamp shows all data in the currently selected item on the left-hand-side and then there are arrows that indicate which specific item has been selected.

Library / MyCollection / Unlisted Data

3 items, 1 being a BirdsEye Imagery map and 2 Tracks (of planned hikes).

At the bottom of the left column I select to show just the map. In the left column, the 2 tracks disappear from the list, but I can still see the grey lines on the actual map on the right (main panel).
  • The filters at the bottom of the data pane will only affect what is listed in the data pane. The map will always show everything that is in the selected folder or list, including the "Unlisted Data" folder. To make the 2 tracks not show, create a new empty list and select that.

Thank you. Made myself a folder system to keep track of everything. Birdseye map of park in folder 1, planned hikes (tracks) in folder 2, and actual hikes in folder 3. These 3 folders in a sub folder so when clicked on it will shows me everything. Thanks for letting me know what I was missing.
  • Yup, now you're on the right track (no pun intended...) And note, in the BC world of multiple folders/lists, that you can have the same item in multiple lists, but if you do, remember that if you change it in one place, it changes everywhere. Sometimes that is what you want, like when you refine the location of a waypoint. But if you want to change an item that is in multiple lists without changing all of them, you have to create a duplicate of the item first, then change that.

Thank you for that added info because that is exactly what I was pondering about next. Have an actual hike that I wanted to keep but also want to expand on it for a planned hike (track).
