Hi all,

Using a professionnal PC (desktop under Windows 7) ultra secured, I can't install anything on C:\ (non corporate verified application), but I can install all I want on another physical hard drives (D:, E:...) .

But BaseCamp not showing me the choice of the place to install it. It tries always to install on C:\Program Files (x86), but I have no access.

Any ideas ?

Thanks in advance.
  • This is currently not an option I am afraid. But I will forward this question along to our installer team. Thank you for your feedback.

Well, I have copied the Basecamp program and folders to the Micro SD card in my Montana so that if I'm ever without the computer I could (theoretically) run it from there after sticking the card into someone else's computer. I haven't actually tried it yet, but it came from a well respected source on the ADVRider forum.

So I would test this by installing BaseCamp onto another computer without these restrictions, then copy the entire folder to a flash drive and then into your D: drive or whatever. I suspect that the Installer won't allow anything but the C: drive, but if you fool BC into thinking it's already ON the C: drive and it only has to look to its folder for the files and database, it will run.

This info is quite old and I can't find it at the moment in the 9847 posts in that thread but this is the gist I remember. Worth a try.
