Unable to install on ASUS Book T100 Windows tablet

I have Basecamp & POILoader on Windows 7 (desktop) and Windows 8.1 (laptop). I'm trying to install them on a new ASUS Transformer Book T100 tablet. It's a full Windows 8.1 tablet with a Intel Atom Z3740 quad core processor. All the standard .net versions are installed including 3.5 SP1.

I've installed quite a number of other programs on the tablet with no problem but, unfortunately, I haven't been able to get any of the Garmin Installers (Basecamp, POILoader & USB Dirvers) to run. They all crash the same way: they make it through the extraction process then a pop-up says "GarminInstaller has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem." That stays up about 1 sec. then disappears. No other messages.

The install programs are compressed archives. I've tried extracting the files myself and executing the setup wizard directly but that didn't work either.

Anyone have any other ideas to try? It just seems so odd that I've been able to install quite a number of other programs, with a variety of installation programs, successfully but every Garmin installer fails.

I just installed BaseCamp 4.2.5 on my new ASUS T100TA with no problems. I went to the Garmin site URL listed above, downloaded the Basecamp 4.2.5.exe file and ran it. Did you try that?

Then I put the .IMG files from my Montana (backup files on the other computer, actually) on a micro SD card, inserted it in the T100, ran JaVaWa device manager to make all the images visible in BC and voila! I don't have to use up any main memory except for the program itself. BC thinks the micro sd card is a GPS, even when a real GPS is also connected. Just the thing for my motorcycle trips!

Yeah, I already tried downloading a fresh installation. Since it worked on yours, at least it's not a fundamental incompatibility. Thanks for the reply.

Problem solved. Something hosed some part of the system installation (no Event Viewer, Task Scheduler, etc.). Restored to Factory and everything is working OK. I'll have to check as I reinstall my programs to identify what causes it if it happens again.
