I am generating a list of hotels near where my wedding reception is to be held so I can send it to guests travelling a long way. It is not possible to copy and paste the POI information on Basecamp so that the job becomes quite easy, any reason why this is the case and, if none, can it be allowed in a future update (preferably in January :-) )?
I am not quite sure what you want to copy where. Do you want to copy POI information into BaseCamp or out of BaseCamp? And what format is the input / do you want the output to be?
If you want to create waypoints in BaseCamp for coordinates, you can use Ctrl-T, copy/paste the coordinates and hit "Create Waypoint".
What I understand is that you want a list of hotels within a radius to be exported as a .POI file.
As far as I know the only way to do that is manually make waypoints at each hotel.
Than select the waypoints you've made and export them to a .GPX file.
You can mail that file to your friends and save the efford of making a .poi file.
The .gpx can be directly opened by many GPSses.
Also it can be opened in Google Earth.
If you want to see a radius around a point, click on the pop-up on the map.
A propertieswindow will come up.
Fill in the radius (see the selected field in the picture).
