Just purchased a used unit with all docs and have been learning Base Camp. Three questions: #1 I cant delete my mistake routes from the device. The delete button on the tool bar is grey and inoperative (and I don't need the previous owners track files either) #2 When I create a new route it only saves the portion that's highlighted on the map. I cant seem to save the entire route. #3 it freezes on the road after an hour or so. As its integrated in to the dash of my motorcycle; stopping, removing it, resetting and restarting are a real hassle. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
The first two questions are certainly BaseCamp related, and the BMW Nav IV is certainly not an outdoor device...
1: Some devices (like zumo's) keep routes, tracks and waypoints in a part of the memory that isn't accessible from your computer. The device creates a copy of the data each time you connect it to your PC; this copy is what BaseCamp uses. While it would be perfectly possible for BaseCamp to erase the/some contents of this copy, it wouldn't make sense because the original is still present on the device. That's why this option is disabled in BC; you have to delete everything from the menu on the device.
2. Sounds like the route is broken into several parts; try again to create the route as a single item.
3. Check whether there is a new firmware version available. This sounds like a known problem that has been solved some time ago.
