National Trails in Basecamp

Evening, I'm planning on doing the Pennine Way next year and I was wondering if anyone had tried to use Birdseye to download a 1:25000 map of the trail? Or indeed if there's a provider out there who does one as a download?

I've tried to do it myself using the software but it's incredibly time consuming and difficult to do

Not AFAIK. I walked the Pennine Way last June. I created a route in Basecamp and then imported that into Google Earth to enable me to 'visualise' the terrain. If you PM me your e mail address I can send you the gpx file if that would help?

As for the map, I use the free OSM ones from here http://talkytoaster.co.uk/

I had no issues with navigating the 268 miles that way.

Much obliged SUSSAMB, I have paper maps of course but as I'm going to be running it in January the minute detail a 1:25000 map would provide may provide my best chance of success in reading the terrain, I'll PM you my address if you wouldn't mind sending your gpx files that'd be great

Yes that's the one, it seemed like a good idea when I applied at the beginning of the year :)
