Basecamp not showing Garmin device (Oregon 450) maps

Hi,

I have an Oregon 450 with Backroad Mapbooks BC V3 and Garmin Western Canada Topo installed. The Topo is on the device and the Backroad is on the Card. I am running Windows 8, 64 Bit. I installed Basecamp 4.2.4.

After installing I reboot my laptop and then connected the Oregon. The problem is Basecamp is not showing either of the device maps. I can only see the Global map in Basecamp. With previous versions of Basecamp and Windows (7) I had similar issues but these were fixed through this old thread: https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?27291-Basecamp-not-showing-any-of-my-Oregon-s-maps

Now however nothing I seem to do works. The maps on the device work fine when using the device but they do not show up in Basecamp. When connecting, I do see a quick status bar attempting to find the device maps but it doesn't seem to finish. I've tried installing older versions of Basecamp but that doesn't help.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Download Javawa Device Manager: http://www.javawa.nl/jdm_en.html

Connect your oregon and give it time to be recognized. Start JDM and click the manage maps button. Select the map you want in the window then click the Visible in BC button at the top left. That should allow you to see the maps in Basecamp.

Only strange thing is that you had it working under Windows 7, so I don't know if maybe there's some kind of issue with Win 8.
