Hi, newbie here, maybe a dumb question but I did search first. My question is can I enter coordinates in base camp to find a spot I once was. I was hunting last year and on my old garmin gps I marked a spot. Can I enter those coordinates into base camp? Thanks in advance.

One easy way is to make a waypoint anywhere on your map, then just edit the coordinates of that waypoint and change them to your marked location. The waypoint will move to the marked location.

Use Ctrl-T. Or Find > Locate Coordinates.

That would be really good if it was true. When you make a waypoint and let us say it is near where you are looking, and then enter manually the correct coordinates Basecamp automatically edits what you have entered and moves the waypoint somewhere else. The auto edit function appears to select randomly and keeps moving my way points to out in the ocean.

I have been provided a bunch of waypoints on paper for a planned trip and I cannot get Basecap to accept them at all. It always auto edits them and moves them elsewhere. Extremely frustrating. this was only last night with the latest Basecamp version.

The Ctrl T option looks a goer, will do some testing tonight.

What format are the coordinates? Lat Long? UTM?

How about sending a sample plus the state or country the coord is supposed to be in.

Well you must be doing something wrong, and as DATEZZ asks perhaps you could post some examples. There will be a mismatch between what you're trying to enter and the format and datum you have selected in Basecamp for Position, so please also confirm what you have selected. You'll see this in Edit, Options, Measurement.
