  • Currently, BaseCamp software is crippleware in that it can only display one map at any given time. Garmin have suggested at some point in the future they may add a multi-layer map display feature.

The snowmobile trail map of NH is a transparent map, so once it is loaded to your GPSr, you can enable the trail map and any topo or street map (etc) simultaneously on your GPSr and you will be able to see where the trails are in relation to the additional map on the GPSr screen.

If you load the trail map onto your GPSr, then connect it to a Basecamp installation, your trail map will show as a layer over the basemap installed with Basecamp. Detail of the basemap is not very good, but it will provide more information than what you get when attempting to view the trail map with the map you installed on your computer.

After Basecamp reads the map files on your GPSr, you will see both the computer installation and the GPSr installation in the map selection dropdown box. Be sure to select the map on the GPSr.
