Basecamp not working Windows 8 anymore

Having experienced this, I resorted to installing basecamp on my windows 7 PC. Then I went to install my legit city maps on it and it said the key was wrong, when it wasn't. A call to garmin reveals you can only install once on one PC and there is no support or solution for situations like this. Their suggestion is to buy another copy or complain.

Anyone else experienced this or have a work around ?

With respect that is incorrect. I'm using my maps on multiple PC's.

Unlock codes are kept in .gma files both on the device and PC (and I assume Mac's). All one has to do is copy your .gma file(s) to other Windows accounts and/or PC's.

On XP

C:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Application Data\Garmin\Maps

On Vista, Win7, Win8

C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\Maps
