UK/US date format in Basecamp 4.2.2

I'm sure my previous version of Basecamp had the UK date format, but since upgrading it seem to be the US style mm-dd-yyyy.
Is there some way to switch to UK format, dd-mm-yyyy? I can't see anything in the options.
Or did I just dream that it used to be in the UK format for me before?

(originally posted in Mac software by mistake).
  • We are still unable to reproduce this issue in either 4.2.2 or 4.2.3. I would first try updating to 4.2.3 in the instance that this might correct the issue. If it does not let us know and we will do our best to fix the problem.
  • Also it might be helpful to give us your exact steps.

We are still unable to reproduce this issue...

Since the issue seems to occurs in track and route property dialogs could it be that BC is assuming that dates in GPX files are in US (or the local) format and converting them (or not)? In other words does the GPX standard dictate the date format or is that up to the creator of the GPX file (device or other)?
  • I'm running 4.2.3

Only 'step' is that I double clicked an existing route ... to open the properties box.

The GPX standard says the date should be in ISO 8601 format. Anything else would be incorrect.

For what it's worth, I have the same problem. Dates in the top right pane under "My Collection / Data received from Memory Card..." read 10/6/2013. In the lower left hand pane, the tracks read 06/10/2013......

OK, here's another example. Note the inconsistency between the date format in the "Edit Via Point" dialog and the parent "Route Properties" dialog:

For completeness, here's the calendar in the system tray:

Actually, having spent the last 30 years in the IT industry wrestling with the utter (and often calamitous) confusion that USA vs The Rest of the World date formats causes, I think the best solution is for the USA to adopt the dd-mm-yyyy format immediately :p

Where did my post go? Ho hum... try again...

I just installed 4.2.3 and it still has the same problem.

To reproduce just do the following:

Create new route with the toolbar. Click two points on the map. Click the hand tool on the toolbar. Double click the route. Double click the first point in the list.
It shows up on my system as shown in the attachment.

As the previous poster noted, the box showing the single point is in a different (correct) date format to that shown in the list.
This was done on the 9th October. So it should say 09/10/2013.

When you say you can't reproduce this are you using a PC with non-USA date setting?

Also, I notice BaseCamp has times in 12-hour format (AM/PM) in some places, even though I have Windows set to use 24 hour format.
