Base Camp - add Mile Markers

I hiked 9 miles, and I have a track showing my entire path from start to finish in BaseCamp. I would like to have a marker show for every 1/2 mile along my route. I can't find a way to do that. I would like to see this like I would see mile markers on a trail. I tried Filter By, but that doesn't keep my original track - it straightens out the curves and makes flat/straight distances. That's not what I want. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Maybe not the easiest way to do it but the only way I can think of using the original Track.

Open the Track Properties and select the first point then holding the shift key, scroll down the point list watching the Leg Distance until you think you're close to 0.5mi. Then click a point to select all of the previous legs. Look at the Summary Box, Distance for you selection and adjust. Once you have the distance you want you will see that length highlighted on the Track on the Map. Just go and create a Waypoint at the end of the leg you just selected. Example below...

  • JaVaWa RTWtool can convert a track (or a route) to a series of waypoints, placed at predefined, fixed intervals.

    Adding mile markers

    Dan,

Thank you! That worked nicely. It's a bit tedious, but it gets the job done.
