Basecamp for windows

I have several waypoints to send to my Garmin Montana, but when i send them to gps they are put into 1 gpx file were as i need them in 3 different gpx files. Garmin says i cann't but i used to to do it with my other Oregan 550, GPSMAP 62s, why not now. was also using mapscource which garmin again says do not use.

Why would you need 3 different GPX files? It doesn't matter to the Montana (or Oregon or GPSMAP 62s) whether the waypoints are saved in one file or in separate files...
When you need them for something else, don't send them to the device, but instead export them one by one to a GPX file (menu "File" > "Export Selected User Data")
