Hi guys I'm a dirt bike rider and like to create the ride route in Basecamp and load it into the unit before I leave home .I am using topo Aus and NZ when I try to create a route which includes tracks that are shown on the map as dotted lines the program won't let the route traverse along them it by passes them and if there is a track that exsists but is not on the map it will not allow me to use it either. I have tried different profiles and editing profiles without sucsess as I am a new user its proberbly me. Any assistance would be greatly accepted
I suppose it depends on what you are trying to route on. Perhaps the little trails aren't routable? But that web page says
Includes updated routable road content, by NAVTEQ, to give you turn-by-turn directions to your destination.
But your description would indicate that you are trying to create a route on a non-routable trail. If so, then the only option would be to see if you can find a website where people have posted tracklogs of the trails you want. Assuming that the Rino 650 is like other recent handhelds, it will have the advanced track navigation feature that allows you to route along a track. I think it's the same sort of deal for the UK Ordnance Survey maps, which are also topo maps. There's an underlying navteq map allowing normal 'road routing' but all the topo off road tracks/trails/footpaths etc aren't routeable.
