Montana 600t Internal Storage Issue

I've got a brand new Montana 600t. I have installed a 2.0 g topo map micro SD in the unit and have transferred a bunch of waypoints and tracks to the unit. When it's plugged in to my computer and I check the unit's properties to see how much internal storage space is free, it's showing 296 mb out of 3.60 g are available.

What could be eating up so much space? The pre-loaded topo maps from Garmin?

The lack of space is preventing me from uploading very many Birdseye images.

Thanks

Is that the Camo version? Yes, the included Topo leaves only about 300mb available on the GPSr.
  • So, I called Garmin and spoke with the same person. He said that he didn't know why this distributor was selling units with reduce internal memory, but I can send in my unit and they'll fix it so it has 6 gigs of space and then 3 gigs of free space. I hate to say it, but I don't think the tech at Garmin knew the unit well enough. I might send it in and see what they can do. I'll take more free space if they want to add it for free!

Garmin is not going to add any space to your Montana. The distributor is not selling units with reduced memory. The 600t is equipped as described, period. If you want more internal memory, you must get the 650t.
