BaseCamp Doesn't Read Topo Maps on GPS

I have a problem getting BaseCamp to read the Topo maps I have installed on an eTrex30 - be grateful for any suggestions ...

I can see the GPS in Windows Explorer and in the left hand panel of Base Camp - I can also send routes and waypoints to the GPS ...

But the Topo maps installed on the device are not visible in Base Camp ...

They don't appear in the drop-down menu, and the View menu only has an item for 'Basic Map Only' ...

This is Base Camp 4.2.2 ...

I am running an older version of Base Camp on another computer (3.2.2) and the Topo maps are visible when I connect the same eTrex to that computer ...

Any suggestions ... ?

    I've uninstalled 4.2.2 and installed 3.2.2 ...

    But when I fire it up it tells me that a newer version is available, and then falls over ...

    Well if you can get it to stay open long enough you could try disabling automatic update checks.

    No, you don't even get to see the Base Camp splash screen ...

    Click on the icon, watch the hour glass for a second before a single dialogue appears re' not latest version - hit either OK or cancel, and the loading process halts ...

    I had the same problem of not see the TOPO 100 K on my Oregon 450t in 4.2.2
    The files cached on the computer was corrupted and wouldn't load.

    Thank you for contacting Garmin International.

    When Basecamp reads the maps on a device for the first time, it caches the files so the map loads faster on subsequent opening. It is possible that some of the cache files didn't copy properly and need to be reloaded. The cache folder is located in the following directory based on the version of Windows being used. Note, this will remove any currently cached map files.
    Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<Your Username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Garmin\BaseCamp\CardProductCache
    Windows Vista/7: C:\Users\(User Name)\AppData (Hidden Folder)\Local\Garmin\BaseCamp\CardProductCache
    Delete the files in the CardProductCache folder and when any device with an installed map is connected, Basecamp will reread the map file.
    The AppData and Application folders are hidden by default and if they aren't visible, you will need to change the Windows setting to make them so.
    1. Open the Control panel
    2. Open Folder Options
    3. Click the View tab
    4. Change Hidden Files and Folders to Show
