Basecamp - waypoint & mp3-file

When i create a route with waypoint in Basecamp.
When i open the waypoint and set the proximity on 50m (meter)
On the second TAB i link the file to the mp3-file.

And send this to my Zumo 660.
When i start the route i don't hear the mp3 file.
What go here fault?

I don't think any device allows you to load a custom sound for proximity waypoints. Usually the device itself allows you to select a sound (from a list of pre-programmed ones).

The link feature in BC is just a convenience feature to allow you to associate a file/URL with a waypoint in the program itself (not a device).

It is possible with certain devices (and the zumo 660 is one of them), but not by sending the waypoint to it. To get this to work, you'll need to convert the waypoint to a POI with Garmin POI Loader, and put the resulting GPI file on the zumo.

Yes, they do. Sadly most newer Garmin devices don't support it; only the ones which have a mp3 player on board. There is a solution for it (it involves a certain type of wav files and an external program), but that's rather cumbersome.

Well most cars these days have head-units that can play MP3's (mine does--even from a USB stick) so I guess that makes sense. Zumo's are intended for motorcycles so I guess a built-in MP3 player is useful for them.

I doubt that's the reason. The zumo 350 doesn't have MP3 support either... I guess it is more a license cost thing.
