Mismatched Maps - Zumo Basecamp

I'm using a Zumo 660 with Basecamp v 4.2.2. I just installed City Navigator 2014.2 to both my pc and the zumo. Despite this, when I upload a route to the Zumo I receive a message that a different map version was used and do I want to recalculate the route. Not sure why this would happen but perhaps I haven't updated things correctly. I notice that, in Basecamp, when the Zumo is connected, if I right click on the device in the tree I am prompted to whether I want to install detailed maps. I was under the impression the map was fully contained in the Zumo. Has something changed? Thanks in advance.

You need to check which version of the map you used to create the route in Basecamp, if you have multiple versions available in the maps dropdown list. Then you need to check on the Zumo to see what version you have installed on it. And, if you have multiple versions installed on the Zumo, which one do you have selected.

In a Nuvi you can check "SETTINGS > MAPS > Map Info" to see which maps are installed and which ones have check marks beside them. I assume the Zumo has something similar under Settings or under My Data.

Is this a route you created before the update? If so do a recalculate then upload to the 660.
  • This is a bug known to and acknowledged by the developers, promised to be fixed in an upcoming release. It seems to happen mostly if the device map is all or partly located on the sd card, and a via point is inserted in the route, though there may be other causes as well. BC doesn't check the sd card for map version comparison in such cases. Recommendation is to simply respond "No" to the request to recalc. There should be no issues with the route due to this, just an annoying extra step.

Falagar, is the fix coming soon?

No news on that front, sorry.
