Data base defected ???? maybe ????

BaseCamp 4.2.2

For the last day or so I have been having problems with my BC. When I open BC and select a recently used folder or list, BC crashes that is it closes without any warring. . . . :mad: . . I was going to restore my database for copies of daily backups I have of my computer (not BC backups), but I can not find the database.

A search of help leads me to this screen.

I get this screen

Notice: my screen do not show the location of the current database.
After a lot of searching I found C:\Documents and Settings\######\Application Data\Garmin\BaseCamp with folders 3.2, 4.0, 4.1, and 4.2. I thought that (with 4.2.1 ?) I had put the data in my "F" data drive not my "C" drive.

My question

What is the different folder 3.2 - 4.0 - 4.1 - 4.2 ?? Do they reflect the different version of BC or some other infor?

Why is my screen different from the one in the help section?

On WinXP the default BC database location is

C:\Documents and Settings\<User>\Application Data\Garmin\BaseCamp

with a number of sub-folders.

The sub-folder Database has a sub-folder for whatever BC version you're using (or did use). For example 4.2 for the latest release.

Now BC allows you to relocate it's database(s) to another location (I and other users do that). Doesn't look like you did that.
