No they don't. Also Garmin has got rid of the traditional Garmin "routes" on newer models and replaced them with the "Trip Planner". However BC creates "routes" so there is some conversion.
Some long time Garmin owners have bought one of the newer models on the assumption they can do what their old units did plus more. That is not necessarily true. One has to do quite a bit of research to get the right model (and even then there are compromises).
The bottom line is that Garmin has many models. Also the more (firmware) features you want the more $$$ you pay.
Routes >= 100 ==> Supports trip planner. Routes from MapSource/BaseCamp are converted.

In short "Routes: 0" ==> No stored routes (but supports one "Go To"). Cannot transfer from MapSource/BaseCamp.
Routes < 100 ==> Supports traditional Garmin routes transferred from MapSource/BaseCamp.
Routes >= 100 ==> Supports trip planner. Routes from MapSource/BaseCamp are converted.
Well from what I've learned here from you knowledgeable folks, I've just about decided on the 2797LMT.I found a Nuvi 1490LMT on Amazon early last winter for a really good price and am pleased with it, relative to the Nuvi 2455 I bought several months earlier. I found the drawbacks of the trip-oriented navigation (from waypoint to waypoint, with no way to see what comes later) very annoying. The 1490 does it the old way, showing the whole route -- it's perfectly happy if I don't run right over a waypoint and simply picks up wherever I am on the route. It's bigger, which is a mixed blessing, but for the money it can't be beat. It's close to being discontinued, or may be, but if you can find one it may be worth a look.
Any opinions?
