The following is related to Garmin Express 2.2.17 running on a Win 7 Pro computer. The device I am playing with at the moment is a nüvi 1350 with CN North America NT 2014.10 maps.
When attempting to use Garmin Express to download City Navigator to my computer for use in BaseCamp, per the bottom of the Device>Advanced page, the download repeatedly stuck at 73%. It did not lockup, it appeared to continue to "work" but never got past 73%. When using Windows Explorer to examine the download folder, no folder had been created. I then tried creating the folder manually and browsing to it from Garmin Express. Again, the process stalled at the 73% mark and no data had been copied to the designated folder.
Searching and reading many posts, the most informative being the "How to use BaseCamp without having to plug in your GPS" thread, I am now suffering from too much information and confused.
Have I screwed up anything that I first need to "unscrew" before proceeding? Among the several methods or solutions proposed in other threads, what is the correct or safest way forward for my situation?
Any help or direction would be appreciated.
