What happend to my finds?

Ok so I had several geocache finds before I started using my eTrex 20. I logged them as always on the website. I used GSAK to move all my previous finds to the eTrex. They show on the map on my GPS as found. When I connect my GPS to Base Camp however, the only ones that show as found on the Base Camp map are the ones I have marked as found on the GPS not the ones I had before. If I go to the Base Camp map and mark them found I can't edit the found date. How do I make them right?
  • When you mark a cache as Found on the eTrex, it updates a text file in the root of the Garmin drive named "geocache_visits.txt" with the geocaching ID, type of log, and date. If you browse your Garmin device from the computer, you'll see it. You can open it in Notepad to look at it or edit it. When you connect your eTrex while BaseCamp is running, this file is uploaded into BaseCamp. That's where BaseCamp finds out that it's been Found and the date, etc. By downloading the Found caches directly from GSAK, you have bypassed this process. They show the Found icon, but the Found status does not get updated by BaseCamp because the text file wasn't updated too. You can manually update the "geocache_visits.txt" file with Notepad and the next time you connect the eTrex to the computer it will update the caches in your BaseCamp list. This will be tedious if you have a lot of cache updates.

I'm surprised that GSAK does not have some sort of macro to do this. You might try browsing the GSAK forums to see if someone else has already automated generating the text file with a macro that you can use later to update the text file and BaseCamp.
