Garmin Basecamp is not starting anymore

Hi

First here are my technical Specs:

Windwos 7 Home Premium 64 Bit
Basecamp 4.2.2

The first two weeks everything went perfectly. A couple days ago, my basecamp isn't starting properly, precisely it isn't starting at all. There is a notification, which says that there is a problem with the installation of microsoft .NET. I should uninstall all microsoft .NET frameworks and reinstall it.
I have the following .NET frameworks installed:

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile
  • Microsoft .NET framework 4 Extended


and some language packages. I uninstalled all these packages and reinstalled it again, causing the same issue with basecamp. I also tried to uninstall additionally basecamp and reinstall it leading to the same problem.

It would be appreciated if someone could help me. Thanks in advance.

    Have the same problem with Basecamp 4.2.2 on my PC, Windows 8 64 Bit. On my Notebook, Windows 8 32 Bit, Basecamp 4.2.2 works well.
    It's not possible to deinstall and install .Net Framework because it's embedded in Windows 8.

    I have the same problem with my windows 8 desktop, basecamp version 4.12, window message " there is a problem with the Microsoft .net installation, Please reinstall all install all version of the .net framework"
    If any one know how to fix this problem, please advise, and thanks.

    I tried to turn on the .NET service on the control panel, uninstall Basecamp, reinstall Basecamp, and it is still not running.

    I assume you're getting the same error.

    How to determine which versions and service pack levels of the Microsoft .NET Framework are installed

    .NET Version Detector (Seems to work best on Vista & above)

    Free DotNet VersionCheck Utility (Seems to work best for Win2K and WinXP)

    I downloaded the .NET Detector and the 3.5 version is there.

    I don't know then. I know that others are running BC on Win8 after enabling .NET 3.5 SP1.

    Started encountering the same issue myself in the last few weeks.

    Windows 7 64
    Garmin Basecamp 4.2.2
    Tried Disabling Net Framework 3.51 from Control Panel Windows Features and Then enabling.
    Tried removing BaseCamp and reinstalling
    Tried removing 3.51 MS Update http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2836942 that was installed on 7/29/2013
    DISM /online /disable-feature /FeatureName:NetFx3
    Basecamp then complained (as it should) that the 3.51 Framework was needed
    DISM /online /enable-feature /FeatureName:NetFx3

    Then the "There is a problem with the Microsoft .Net installation. Please uninstall and reinstall all versions of the Microsoft .Net Framework.

    FWIW. Visual Studio 2010 SP1 and .Net Framework 4 are installed.

    Also running Basecamp 4.2.2 on Windows 7 64 laptop with no problems...(but no VS2010)

    I am having the same problem. "BaseCamp Application has stopped working" ; my OS is Windows 7 / 64 with 16 GB Ram. The details of the MS error popup are:

    I have uninstalled / reinstalled BaseCamp. I have rebooted. I have booted into Safe mode. I have tried running BaseCamp in compatibility XP mode. I have tried running it as an administrator. Other mapping software runs fine, such as MapSource. Google Earth runs fine. I have .NET 4.x installed. WIC is installed. I even uninstalled KB2670838 as someone else had suggested. Still no luck.

    Have any of you having this problem updated to the 4.2.3 version and does the problem continue to persist?
