address search problem

hi
I have a nuvi 2460 with city navigator Europe nt 2013.4
and basecamp 4.2.2 on windows 7 with the map on an SD card

the address search function on the nuvi works fine

the address search on basecamp returns no results. matching POI's and garmin adventures are found.
(yes, I have the 'addresses' tool turned on)

can you help pls?

How are you trying to search, it works fine with my 4.2.2

As well as ensuring the address icon is selected (looks like an envelope) ensure the CN map is selected in the map drop down box in the toolbar.

Perhaps you could give an example of an address you're looking for and how you're searching for it?

Are you sure you have the Envelope icon selected? If you don't you will get the sort of results you're getting.

Second from left icon in my example, both it and the waypoint icon selected.

I don't know but I've never tried with a map on a card. I'll try later if I get time.

That's it ... seems Basecamp won't search addresses, postcodes etc if the map is on a card.

could it be to do with the fact I am working with a gmapsupp.img file on the sd card?

I don't think so. That said you need to be aware that BaseCamp caches map search data on HD. If it hasn't had time to complete that process search categories etc can be missing.

What you have to do is select the map you want to use for searching and wait until BC is done caching it. BC doesn't (anymore) tell you when it's done. If your machine has a HD activity indicator wait until the HD is idle.

The caching process only occurs once.
