I want to use Basecamp to delete a bunch of waypoints and tracks from my ETrex Venture HC. I can delete them from the list that BaseCamp keeps, but when I save to the device, it doesn't get rid of them on the device. So they keep coming back when I reload from the device. Is there a way to use BaseCamp to delete them from the device?
You shouldn't be saving anything to the device. Select your GPS in the top left hand pane. That will display what's on the GPS in the bottom left. Delete what you want to delete in the bottom left hand pane.
I don't think its possible. On older Etrex models (eg the Venture HC) you can't delete waypoints/tracks etc using Basecamp. You have to delete them on the device itself.

I tried that. After sending to the device and closing BaseCamp, the items are still on the device.
Then the advice above is probably correct. I know BC doesn't work with serial Etrexs but seemed to recall it worked on my Etrex Legend H but clearly not.
I am using the 465t and I can't delete any information from the GPS using Basecamp. It would be nice to have that feature. It is a pain to have to disconnect the GPS from the computer to delete items you no longer need on the GPS, then hook back up to work on the GPS again.
