I have a GIS project that relies on GoogleEarth as the presentation layer and BaseCamp as the positional information repository and GPS interface.
I find that it is fairly easy to move points between between the too by "save as" KML in GoogleEarth with an import on BaseCamp and a view-> GoogleEarth to go from BaseCamp to GoogleEarth.
The problem is that icons get re-mapped to the blue-flag (from GoogleEarth) and blue-pin (from BaseCamp).
I have looked at the KML and find lines like ..
<Icon>
<href>maps.google.com/.../href>
</Icon>
So why can't an icon map / remap file for BaseCamp be included to do the translation?
Or is there an icon translation method out there I dont know about?
