Hi,

I'm on an old Dell running windows XP. I recently purchased a 78sc and downloaded Basecamp. I can't open BC. I get the following error: Basecamp.exe-.NET Framework Initialization Error. I've reloaded microsoft.net framework and can't seem to figure this out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Here's 2 of the requirements for Basecamp to run on a PC.

IBM-compatible computer running Windows XP Service Pack 3 or later
Microsoft® .NET framework 3.5 SP1; a current version of .NET will be installed if needed

Thanks for the reply. I have SP service pack 3 installed and microsoft.net frawork 4.0 extended, but I think the computer isn't recognizing the .net framework. I also get a .net framework initialization error at start up: ACCeCInt.exe-.netframework initialization error. Thanks again for any help you can provide.

I'm certainly no expert on .net framework but maybe you could uninstall it and re-install. You might have to email Garmin support and ask them.

I got it. There's a problem with some of the updates from .net framework 3.5 to 4.0. There's a fix if you google it, but it didn't work. I ended up on a computer forum that suggested trying the fix. It failed. It had a link to completely remove .net framework. Then I installed .net framework 1.1, then followed Aaron Stebner's blog and downloaded 4.0, the 3.5. They all loaded and seem to be working. :-)
