Help with getting rid of this

You can't. There have been numerous requests for thsi feature to be removed, not sure if it will be or not or a better implementation, eg a right clcick if you want that sort of info.

I agree completely. This is the most annoying feature I have ever seen in a gps application. Almost makes me want to stop using it entirely.

Another one for removal of this completely irritating feature.

+1E6. Very annoying. This sort of thing is what a right-click is for.

I too wish there were a way to disable/enable this feature.
What gets me is the one that pops up to inform you of an invalid input...and the popup covers up part of what you're supposed to fix!

Same frustration here for another VERY annoying graphic pop-up. When you try to select points as you click along a road to measure the distance from one point to another, two graphics COVER UP THE ROAD you are trying to measure. You can't see the next point you need to include unless it's a long way away on the map. If the graphics are programmed into the code for Basecamp software, they have to have some coordinates to place the overlying, annoying graphics. Why not program the code to place them somewhere else??? ARGHHHH. Very SLOPPY programming code.

The problems have been reported before by myself and many others, but as things go with Basecamp they just can't seem to make it user friendly.

It's really annoying when you are making a route

Simple enough to make under options / general a choice box for it (hint, put it default off)
Or "Design" a shortcut for it when you want to see that search balloon

Interesting to see others have this complaint, but that Garmin has not as yet commented on it. I will stop using BC until this problem is corrected. I used several other apps while writing my book on the Great Western Trail, and will continue to use them.
