Hi - running win 7 64bit
previously had basecamp v2 on here. no issues

downloaded 4.2.1 (got a new gps capable of birdseye)

uninstalled v2

installed v4.2.1

when starting... it shows connecting to servers... then crashes.

I sent in the crash report.

hoping someone may have ideas on how to solve this. (or can point me at existing threads with similar issue)

thanks

Wil

I'd try to remove your data and see if that solves the issue. If it does, we could then try to figure out how to get your data back if you need it.

Your BaseCamp data is located at c:\Users\{your user name}\AppData\Garmin\BaseCamp.

Copy that folder to a different location (like your desktop) and delete the original. Then launch BaseCamp again.

I tried that and still did not not work. I managed to find a v3 of BaseCamp which does work.

What is the crash you are seeing? Or please report the crash again and leave your forum user name in the comment. Then I can look up what the exact crash was.

Hmm, I find it curious that you still get that crash after you deleted your data.

But either way, we should have this fixed in 4.2.2.

    I apologize for the inconvenience.

Not a problem. I found a copy of version 3 which lets me use Birdseye. I'll try the 4.2.2 update
