Errors in address search in BaseCamp

Hello!

In the latest version of BaseCamp I've found the following problems with the searching of point addresses:

1. point addresses in the numeric-alpha (23A) and numeric slash alpha (23/1A) formats are displayed without a street name and without a house number in the search results (only "A" and "/1A", respectively). :(

2. BaseCamp can not find a point addresses in another popular numeric slash format (e.g., 23/1 and 23/2). :( In the search results BaseCamp displays only one from multiple addresses in this format (e.g., 23/2). But, unfortunately... displays for this address only a street name (without a house number 23/2)! All other variations of addresses in numeric slash format for this street and house number are ignored and are not searched.

Suggestions: 1. fix searching for point addresses in numeric slash format, 2. display search results for all addresses in the full form (street name + house number), without abbreviations.

Many thanks!

Another problem is that Basecamp can't find addresses or POI even if I enter the road name as shown on the map.

Here are two examples of same location

You can see the Faregrounds and Larry Walker Pky displayed but basecamp could not find either location
  • Tireman -- the jpg's are hard to read, but in the first one, it looks like the "addresses" button is not selected, which means it won't find any address even if you entered it exactly. In the second case, Georgia National Fairgrounds is a POI, and it looks like you have that selected. In the name of the jpg, you have the state spelled wrong, but I assume it was spelled correctly in the search? I found both with no problem. But it is too picky. I found it using Georgia National, but not using Georgia Nat Fairgrounds, or Georgia Fairgrounds. It seems it must find an exact match between what you type and some segment of the named place. I even find it using only "gia nat"! Go figure... Also, it will default to searching near the center of the view, so if the screen shows the town you know the address or POI to be in, you need not add the town and state. At least that's my experience, YMMV!

Sorry for poor quality pictures I re-sized them to meet the posting limit and went too far.

RE "addresses" button. I have watched the training video on "Find" but can see no way to open the FIND toolbar they talk about and show in the video so I can enter an address. In Mapsource we had the option of find a city or an address.

Ctrl + Alt + F gets a side bar that only provides the same options as drop down list under "Find" in menu bar.
Neither selection of address provides the detail as shown in the tutorial video.
I guess you just have to figure out how much detail to enter in the "search box" and see if you get a meaningful answer.

I will rate this just another degeneration from the good functionality we had in Mapsource and the poor quality of the so-called training videos that do not match the functions in the actual product.

Re the "adresses button", you don't need the find toolbar to change that. Those icons that show in your jpg right below the "Top Results" line control which search categories are turned on. The first 4 are POI's, Addresses, Adventures, and Geocaches (I may be off, not at my BC computer just now). After you have initiated a search from the upper right corner, and that panel is displayed, you can click on any of those icons, each click will turn a category on/off. If you're looking for an address, just make sure the address one is turned on (highlighted) and the others off, to save search time. The find toolbar is especially helpful if where you want to search is not where the map is centered, but in the case of your jpg, it looked like you had the map centered there.
