Waypoints on walking Routes in Basecamp

I have the usual problem with WP symbols (the large pin obscuring the WP number on the screen on my Map62st) so is it possible to download a route in .gpx format to Basecamp, look at it in Basecamp and change all the WP symbols (not one at a time) to a simple dot? If so can I then load it to my 62st and see the sysmbols I have on the screen in Basecamp (that is to see the dots and NO pins)? I am trying to find a way to get rid of the blue pins by simple mechanisms which are available via Basecamp and I have yet to try to use Custom waypoints which may offer a solution.

Thanks for that (unwelcome) news. Everywhere I have looked I see this problem although I have a GPS Map 60c which does not have the problem. It really seems to be time that Garmin took a look at what is being said on the forums and did something about it. They seem to have introduced changes for no apparent reason and made things worse as they changed unit numbers rather than progressing (I thought I was buying a better unit and upgrading!) although I suppose it does mean that new units are bought but that does not give the customer a good service or even value for money.
I am definitely disappointed with my unit and would not recommend it to other prospective users unless Garmin solves the problem.
    Thanks again for your help.

    Are they 'waypoints' or 'routepoints'?
If they are actual waypoints, then you should be able to select all of them in BaseCamp, and change the symbols for all of them. You should be able to use a symbol for a small dot, then try that to see what it looks like on the device.

If they are 'routepoints' then it is more complicated. You can't select them in BaseCamp to change the symbol. There are a few possible methods in that other thread, eg modifiying the GPX file.
