Sometimes I just turn my Garmin 650t on as I get to an off-road set of trails, then turn it off when I'm back at the road, then turn it on at the next section of off-road trails, etc. However this leaves one long straight line connecting the 2 separate off-road locations. When I use BaseCamp and open the completed trip, I try to delete the one interconnecting Index row in the trip detail, it always deletes the ones above (or below it) and not the one interconnecting row. How can I delete that one interconnecting Index row? Can't I have a trip that has a 'hole' in the tracks?
Sounds like you have to split the track into 2 pieces. You can do this in Basecamp, use the "Divide" tool. On tools menu > Divide, or there's an icon on the toolbar. Then click on the track at the point where you want to split it. You may have to delete a few points from the start/end of each track, depending on where you split it.
