Printing Route Issues

A little disappointed, just dropped over $650 on a new Montana 600 w/CNNA NT 2014 - SD Card etc.
Spent the last 6 hours refining a trip (in BaseCamp 4.2.1) and when I go to print different legs of the planned “Routes” I get this message.

“Printing is restricted for the CURRENT MAP PRODUCT”

Then why did I buy it???

Unless I am missing something here?
But I really don’t want to go into a rant over how “Hardware and Software” become redundant . . .:mad:

Another inconvenience; Do I need to have the “Device” tethered (Plugged into) my Notebook while I work on trips?
Or can I just plug the SD Card into the computer directly?

Well if you try it you'll find out ... but the answer is that basecamp should read the map off the card.

As for printing I'm not sure why you're getting that message, I'm able to print from CN EU 2014.10 without issue, maybe the NA map is different?

In Windows anything that can be displayed on a PC screen can be printed using SNIPPING TOOL.. :)

Yes, you can. It is even possible to copy the contents of the SD card to another, empty one (or a USB stick) and use that with BaseCamp. You can't use that other SD card in your device, but for BaseCamp it doesn't matter.
Or even better: create a virtual device on your computer: http://www.javawa.nl/virtualdevice.html

I get the same printing notice when BaseCamp is using a map on the device. However, if BaseCamp is using a map on the PC I get no printing problem. My advice would be to install the CNNA on the PC and try again.

Good point. My map is on the PC as well as my GPS.

That isn't possible with a map preinstalled on a SD card...
