I'm a long time MapSource user and make a lot of custom routes to navigate backroads and sometimes trails.

I'm in the process of learning and using BaseCamp to create my routes.

It would be really nice to have the crosshair option in BaseCamp that is available in MapSource

There are currently no plans to bring the cross-hair back. I'd also be interested in use-cases for the cross-hair.

I like the cross-hair as it improves my aim :p That is I find it easier to locate waypoints more precisely etc when zoomed right in.

I leave it enabled in MapSource.

Ahhh well you'll want a cross-hair mouse pointer for that :p

True. Never used the crosshair in Mapsource, just seems to mark centre of screen?

I can just as easily place a waypoint without it ...

Well if you enter co-ordinates the screen gets centered on those. The cross-hair allows you to "hit" those co-ordinates.

Yeah yeah you can just enter said co-ordinates into the waypoint properties...

Ctrl + T in Basecamp does the same, in fact it not only recentres the screen but will also create a waypoint if you want at that exact spot :p
