Reset waypoint icons after download (inside GPS)

What's going on is that not all the icons in Basecamp are available on the Montana, those that aren't are replaced by the default icon, Blue Flag.

I dont suppose there is a list out there of the available icons in the Montana?

I don't know of one but you could create one and publish it :)

I'm having a similar, but maybe not identical, problem with my Oregon 450. When I connect, my custom waypoint icons get converted to the plain black dot on the device or the blue flag in BaseCamp, depending on where I make the change. Garmin support has been unable to resolve this yet.

If you check my other post in this thread you'll find a link to a thread I posted. In that there's a post with an attached ZIP file that has a .GDB file that can be imported into BaseCamp. That is a list of waypoint icons the Oregon 450 supports.

I am trying to get rid of the blue pins on viapoints on my Montana. I followed the advice in another thread to replace the standard waypoint value in the Windows Registration Database for BaseCamp and MapSource. I changed the value 45 00 00 00 to 12 00 00 00 which should be "City (Small)". That symbol does not take up must real estate on the screen. I can see that the City (Small) symbol is now in my routes. However, I still get the big blue pins on the Montana so City (Small) may not be supported by the Montana. I would like to know the hex code of a small symbol that is supported by Montana.

Is there any way of finding out what hex codes are associated with the symbols?

Thanks for the file. How do I import the .gdb file into my BaseCamp? The only options I see are to import it into Internal Storage, or copy the file in
Windows to somewhere in one of the Garmin directories?

In (Windows) Basecamp create a new list and select it.

Then press Ctril-I (File menu, Import) and browse to the .GDB file you downloaded.
