Ok, so I had my route allll done. I saved it as a GPX file to my computer, drag and dropped the file into the GPX file on my Garmin Zumo 660. Then I go and open the route in the GPS and the route has been changed completely. I go load it back up in BC and its also been changed. WTH caused this????!!!
it even went into my cloud storage and changed my route. Dont get it. I just did another route earlier and everything worked fine. I do a 10.5 hour route and it changes it up. Freaking annoyed!!!
Not a Basecamp issue, your 660 (like most Garmin nuvis and zumos) recalculates the route based on the map it's using and the routing settings on the GPS itself. If you want the two to match then ensure you're using the same map in both and that the routing/avoidance settings in Basecamp match those on your GPS.
The zumo's don't work the same as nüvi's. They are capable to load a route without changing them; regardless which settings the device uses.
@BRUIN008: are you saying that the original route in BaseCamp has been changed too? Did you change some profile settings? BaseCamp tends to recalculate routes based on the same profile (or has that been changed recently?)
My guess would be that something went wrong during the export of your route. Unless things have changed, BaseCamp will import a route without doing a recalculation (same as MapSoucre). So seeing a messed-up route on import indicates a messed-up file.
If you did not delete your original route from BaseCamp, you can try exporting again. If your messed-up route has all the via-points (points under the first tab of route properties) you can try the recalculate button to get your route back.
No problems when importing routes, however the 500/550 does recalculate (even when told not to do so) in the case that you travel opposite to the direction of the route.
Half way doing the route I went and checked and up checked advoincies. And I remember when I went to open the route in my gps, it took like 5 min or so to recalculate the route. So I guess its something I did.
As far as which BC I am using, I just downloaded it last fri and I updated it mon or so. Its the newest one unless they published a new one since monday.
And, yes. The route in BC has been changes to match the route that is now in my Zumo. It even went and changed it in my cloud storage which I was under the impression it was saved separate and would be able to always go back to it load it back up if you ever lost or if something like this happened.
Its also changed the route to whats now on my gps, that I didnt create under my preferences and also my cloud as stated before. IDK if it helps any. But under one of the storage locations, the symbol next to it is a motorcycle with three dots behind it and the other is a yellow person like figure with 3 green dots behind it.
Why are you converting to a .GPX format and then dragging it to the Zumo? Just send the route directly to the Zumo from BC by right clicking on the route and then using "send to". I agree with the Zumo recalc comment (I have a Zumo 450)
