I get an error message each time I plug my eTrex 30 into BaseCamp v 4.2.1. Didn't get that before....

Was running device software 3.0, upgraded to 3.10 - made no difference, still getting error message.
I can view the JPEGs just fine in Windows Explorer, so the files aren't corrupt.

Mmh, can you create a ZIP file of your device's GarminDevice.xml and the 4 files mentioned in the error message and send me a PM with the ZIP file attached? If your device has any GPX files on it in the \Garmin\GPX folder throw in those for good measure as well.

Hopefully I will be able to reproduce the problem.

Another idea: none of these files seem essential. What happens if you just get rid of them?
  • How does one turn off the Find "search near center of map" popup? Can't find a switch for it anywhere.

In this new version, if I select two tracks or more, I can't see the aggregated data of them (distance, time, etc.). No problem with graphics.

I don't know whether this is a bug or you've just eliminated this feature.

Is it possible to get this feature back in next versions?

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for reporting, we'll take a look.
  • GPX importing into a list has a bug in 4.2.1. If my list is in a List Folder and I select "Import into list ABCList" it creates a new "ABCList" list in the root of My Collection and imports the GPX file there. I then have to copy everything from the new ABCList into the original ABCList and remove the second ABCList.

This is new behavior starting in 4.2.1.

Gidday I seem to be having some frustration using 4.2.1 on my new windows8 tablet. Not sure that I like the way find now works, but my main issue is that it does not like addressing the Europe 11.02 map that is in my Garmin 800.
