Just downloaded 4.2.1, only played with it a bit so nothing to report on that yet.

I have been running the Base Camp Beta, usually, a new REAL version deletes the Beta version but this time I still have the Beta version file remaining.
When I click on the Beta Icon it says parts of the file are missing but there is still a large part of it remaining in my computer.

Should the Beta program have been deleted automatically?

Downloaded 4.2.1 and it crashed because of read-only attributes on .jnx files in

    C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\Garmin\BaseCamp\DeviceCache

Removed the read-only attributes and all was fine.]

I got that too. Deleted it via Control Panel.

Installed it on a Windows 7 machine without an issue. I like the new icons! I did have to manually delete the Beta version.

How do I use the new "Added support for different route profiles for different legs of a route" function?
I tried do switch from Motorcycle routingprofile to Direct profile while making a route, but it kept the Motorcycle profile anyway, same if I do it the other way, start with Direct profile and switch to Motorcycle profile while doing a route, it keeps the Direct profile.
  • I can't get it to work either. Created a direct route and one driving route. Selected them and chose Advanced, Join selected routes. Activity profile now shows as 'Mixed route' but it is either direct or driving, not mixed. F1/Help link doesn't work for me (?) so maybe someone's writing how it works right now :)

Ahh, thats how to do it, thanks. But what do you mean with "but it is either direct or driving, not mixed", mixed is exactly what I want!
  • Well I'm not sure 'that's how you do it' as although it shows as 'mixed' it isn't!!

I don't think the Beta versions were removed automatically before either.

To do mixed mode routing, open the route dialog, select a via-point and then click the edit via-point button (the clock like-looking thing). You can select the profile there.
