Basecamp for iOS features

Hello!

I recently bought a new Oregon 650 that can connect with Basecamp. As I Geocache alot, I want to find a fast and easy way to transfer caches from a device/app when im not home to the GPS. With basecamp app it seemed lika a great future app for doing so. But when putting geocache gpx files in Basecamp in windows through the cloud feature, it becomes a waypoint instead and the paperless geocache and all those features are gone. Why is this? Is it only compatible with Open caching? Would be great if you could download the GPX files from Geocaching.com directly to Basecamp app on the iPad when you are not home and then you could send it to the GPS out in the fields.

Also, i take alot of pictures. Would be great if you could connect the GPS to Basecamp and transfer photos taken with it from the app on the iPad to the iPad so you can upload that picture to a geocache you just logged?

I know that all of these things you can easily do at home or if you have a handheld computer with windows/mac with you. But what about iPad/iPhone users?

Hope you understand my questions.

/Daniel

Unfortunately I can only really help with the BaseCamp desktop application, because the Mobile app is developed by a different team.

If I do remember correctly, the cloud doesn't support GeoCaches properly yet. It's still a pretty new feature (less than a year old I believe), so Garmin will make improvements to this over time. I'd expect GeoCaches to work properly at some point.

Garmin is committed to its own OpenCaching platform, so I wouldn't bet on a tight GeoCaching.com integration. Again, that's not my area of expertise, so who knows what might happen.

To send feedback about BaseCamp Mobile, I'd go directly through http://www8.garmin.com/contact-us/. I don't think the Mobile developers frequent these forums.

I apologize for not being more helpful.

Where can I get one of those handheld computers that runs MacOS? ;)

Thanks for the answers! As you said, it is till a pretty new app and feature that probably will be improved more in the feature. I will contact them and see what they have too say.

I've got a MacBook Air myself and love it. But my hand is a little too small to hold it. :D

I also have an HP Slate 500 which is an 8" tablet running Windows 7 Professional. I can run the full version of Basecamp on this tablet, although Mapsource runs better since this tablet has a netbook class CPU. Newer Windows based tablets are faster and I suspect would be more responsive with Basecamp.
