How can I show a detour...

When I arrive at a place I want to stay for a while and find out that the normal road around some place is being repaired how can I set a constant detour..

For instance, about a mile away from me is a bidge that is being repaired/rebuilt. When I make a route I am routed through the area of the bridge because there are few other places to cross this large river. I would like to place something at that area saying don't make a route through that area until I remove it..

Can this be done in Basecamp or on the GPS?? I do know about the detour icon on my 465t but I have to select it every time it sends me across the bridge but I want to do this in advance...

Any help??

Sadly this functionality (Custom Avoidances) has been dropped from both BaseCamp and Garmin's current offering of GPS receivers. One of the reasons I doubt I'll ever upgrade my current units.

So Sad... Thanks.. I wish the folks that designed the GPS were required to use them every day... We travel fulltime in an RV and find a lot of problems as we travel with no way to help improve them.

One of several reasons folks still use MapSource and stick with older GPS's.
