Routes Go as the crow flys

I have tried creating routes two ways. As a simple route by dragging 2 way points into the start and end boxes and by creating a route from multiple way points. In both cases the routes go straight across the map as if I were flying a plane. My profile is motorcycling.
How do I fix this?

Which map are you using? If you've selected the motorcycling profile and still getting direct routes it's probably that you're not using a routeable map.

I changed the map from global to city navigator and recalculated the route and it solved my problem.
