Nuvi 550. HELP! How do you skip a waypoint?

So I was riding my motorcycle following a route I created with a bunch of waypoints. We didn't exactly pass one of the points exactly and it continually tried to nav us back to that point. We didn't want to go back and ultimately it spoiled using the device fort the rest of the trip. It seems you cant skip a waypoint and then just have it nav you to the next one. It forces you to double back and cross the point exactly. When we decided not to, the device instantly became useless as it refused to direct us to the next point.

What device has Basecamp like functionality with pre planning of routes and downloading to the device, but allows you to skip waypoints as you travel as you may change your mind. The rigidity of my device is very frustrating.

In future see page 16 of the manual, you can edit the route to delete points. Not ideal in your situation but of course others would argue that if they've missed a waypoint they don't want their GPS to skip it and do want to be directed back to it :)

Can you elaborate? I can't find my manual. I wouldn't want it to skip a waypoint unless I do want it to. I was on my way and this thing wanted me to make a u turn to go back to an imaginary point on the pavement I missed. If the waypoint is the mall and you've been to the mall you don't want to have to ride around in the parking lot looking for that magic 10 foot circle you need to ride through to tick it off the list.
