New Route Drag & Drop Window

I checked the little box at the bottom of the New Route window that said "Do not show again".
Now I want that window back but I cannot find out how.
I uninstalled Basecamp, restarted my computer, re-installed a fresh download and still no New Route window.
Any ideas??

IIRC someone posted here that they got it back by selecting Reset Options in the Options, General menu.

Thanks, but that reset did not bring back the New Route window.
There must be a KEY or a stored settings file that needs to be changed or deleted??

It seems its in the directory: %LOCALAPPDATA%\GARMIN_Corp
then a subdirectory for the BaseCamp version

So delete or rename that directory, that should reset all of your BaseCamp settings.

Seems like Reset Options worked for one but not others, hopefully as Falagar posted in the thread you linked to there will be a way at some point to reset it for all of us :)

Thanks Craig for pointing me to that previous post above. I used the info there to fix my BaseCamp New Route Dialog Window. :D

I use WinXP SP3.
You need to edit the "user.config" files found here.
C:/ Documents and Settings/Don (your name)/Local Settings/Application Data/GARMIN_Corp/BaseCamp.exexxxxxxxxxx/folder with version number like 4.1.2.0/user.config

I had 6 BaseCamp.exe folders with 14 version folders for a total of 14 user.config files. I used Notepad++ (freeware) to open and edit each file by using the Find function with "ShowRouteCreationDialog".
3 of the 14 had <value>False<value> which I changed to True.

I think that the Utilities>Options>General>Reset> mentioned above did not work for me because the False was in versions 4.1.0.0 and 4.1.1.0 and not the version 4.1.2.0 I have updated to.
Apparently BaseCamp could not get back to those previous version folders with the Reset.

Thanks again everybody and especially HARDWIRE1 who spelled out what to look for.
BaseCamp is now back to normal.

Reset worked for me. I clicked it, Basecamp automatically shutdown and restarted and the drag/drop window now appears.
