You can download the new Beta at http://developer.garmin.com/apps/BC/BaseCampBeta_4.2.0.4.exe or, if you already have an earlier 4.2 Beta installed, you can update from within BaseCamp. There have been quite a few changes, so it should be worth checking out:

Added various improvements and fixes for Trip Planner
Added support for changing the location of BaseCamp's database
Added ability to create waypoints from Yelp find results. Note this only works if you are using a map with address search capability
Fixed an issue where roads from the base map were displaying along with roads from the detailed map
Fixed an issue where BaseCamp was not displaying properly localized map labels
Fixed an issue with inverting mixed-mode routes
Fixed an issue with certain file names for Adventures and Garmin Cloud
Fixed various find issues
Removed Utilities menu, moved Options to Edit menu, created main menu entries for Adventures and BirdsEye
Removed maps drop-down box from default toolbar, also removed sub-menu for maps, maps are now directly accessible from the Maps menu

As usual, we are very interested in your feedback, please report any errors you might encounter. Thanks!

    Thanks, FALAGAR.

BTW, I know that it has been already reported that the menu bar doesn't remember its position but the Show/Hide Data Filter switch is also forgotten when you quit and relaunch BC.

This may be something you can't do anything about but here goes... I still use a Zune (don't laugh) MP3 player and the Zune app. If the Zune is plugged in to a USB port when I launch BC the app
thinks the Zune is a storage device and latches on to it. When I launch the Zune app it complains that a Garmin program has the device and won't continue. In BC I can Eject the Zune device and get a message that the device has been released by BC. The Zune app (quit & relaunched) still complains that a Garmin program has the device. It would appear that BC still has the Zune. I need to quit BC to get it to release.
Not the end of the world but it would be nice if BC would really release the device.

The menu bar positioning is being fixed.

Thanks for reporting the issue with the filters. We'll look into that.

I'll add the device eject issue into our bug database as well, but that might take a while to get around to. I don't think that's too critical for most users.

Not sure if it's been reported but the "Show on Map" and "Show Selected on Map" function's are grayed out on the Menubar and in right-click options. Also Ctl-D does not work at the Folder or List level.

    Cheers,

Thanks for reporting. We'll check it out.

Not grayed out on mine

It is if you don't have any data selected. (Just a folder or list)

How does this same bug keep being reintroduced into every single revision and update, then fixed again, only to be re-introduced with the very next update, over and over again?

    Activities

With the maturity of Backup/Restore and the coming of multiple Libraries, the ability to use Libraries on either OS-BaseCamp is critical for me as I need to use both OS application since they have differing UI's and therefor differing workflows.

Activities have become a critical aspect of routing both in BaseCamp and in the newer Garmin GPS units. As I was working between the two OS-Beta's today it became clear to me that Activities were not a saved component of the Library and therefore Activities were different between my two BaseCamps.

I would like to request the ability to sync Activities: i.e, store the Activity settings in the ".bclibrary" file.

    Cheers,

Isn't that how it's supposed to work then

Create a Clone of your GPSr and use it to download your BirdsEye maps, then transfer them to your uSD card after.

Although not stated, why shouldn't it work? It does in Mac-BC. This is rather trivial hot-key enablement and keeps one from having to select all of the items in a List just to show them (centered) on the map. It's just one of those annoying workflow items that are different between the two applications and there really isn't a reason for it to be different.
