Hello
I tried to use multiprofile routing in several scenarios. Because I have Edge 705, I convert all routes to track and then to .tcx file thus avoid changing it in device.
1st scenario: I planned the route, convert it as I described and sent to device. Then I went according to this plan. During my way I found that in some part the map is bad and I go slightly different way. After I returned I wanted to change the original route to be the same as I went. What I thought to be good procedure was: make two points which enclose the part which I want to change; change the part between these two points to "direct"; than plan everything between these two points as usual. Whatever I did, basecamp put an obstacles between the task and me. Instead of keeping "Direct" routing when I halved the section between two points, routing changed all the times back to original type. When I clicked on some point of the route, the route didn't open at that point but at the first point of the route and I have to find proper point going forward.
2st scenario: I planned the route and I knew in advance that some part I need to plan in "Direct" profile. I started to plan in "MountainBike"
profile until I came to the place then I changed profile to "Direct". I wanted to plan in "Direct" from that time but basecamp switch itself to
"MountainBike" all the time. So I thought that I click on the desired path and then change the profile of several points at once. Unfortunately
it isn't possible, you have to change one by one.
From my experience the way how this feature is implemented is so unfriendly that is nearly impossible (for me) to use. Or maybe I only didn't find
the proper way how it was intended to use which is the same eventually.
Please, keep the feature but think again about the way how users would use it.
Best Regards
Ivan
