I ran out or storage on my Garmin 76csx. Transferred all my waypoints to Basecamp.

I deleted all the waypoints on my 76csx. Verified that waypoints are gone from the 76csx.

Trying to transfer selected waypoints back to device. Everything I try sends ALL the waypoints back to the device.

1.
I placed the named waypoints I want into a list called 'NamedWaypointsWjb' in Basecamp. Clicked Send 'NamedWaypointsWjb' to device.
Basecamp sends all the waypoints to device.

(delete all of them again from device and verify that no waypoints are on device)

2.
Select the waypoints I want to send to device. Selected menu option: Device-Send To Device-Send Selection To Device.
Again Basecamp sends all the waypoints to device.

(delete all of them again from device and verify that no waypoints are on device)

3.
Highlight one waypoint. Selected menu option: Device-Send To Device-Send Selection To Device.
Again, Basecamp sends all the waypoints to device.

How can I send a limited number of waypoints to my Garmin 76?

    I can't give you a solution for BaseCamp (don't use it for transferring data to/from units directly).

    I use MapSource (get it here) to backup the waypoints in my 76CSx. I read them from the device and then save them in a GDB file. One can easily re-open the file, delete waypoints you don't want to transfer, and then send the remaining ones to the unit.

    2. and 3. won't work. Send To Device will always send everything, it's a short-cut to easily move all data back and forth between device and BaseCamp.

    1 should have worked.

    Try this:

    1. Select the waypoints you want to send and then either:

    2. Drag and drop the selection to the device.

    or

    2. Go to Edit, Send-To and then pick the device.

    Hello Bill,

    I am not sure this is the answer because I just remember reading this, I have not actually done it.
    When using your computer to delete waypoints from your 76 you must first empty the trash before trying to send other waypoints back to the 76.

    Just installed Mapsource 6.16.3. So much better for me...

    Welcome to the club of MapSource "clingers" :D We'll send you a membership card ;)

    BTW you can import GDB files into BaseCamp. That's what I do for some stuff.

    In preference to 2, I find it easier to right click a selection then Send to ... one less action :)

    Drag and drop sometimes can be a pain if the selection and target aren't both visible, so I tend to 'right click, send to' regardless

    It should send only what you select ... Then again as you say it could be a gps issue although Falagar didn't mention any with a 76?

    This what I do and it WORKS. It is also what I used in MapSource.

    I set up a separate file called "Transfer". You can name it anything you desire. I then copy the points/routes that I want to transfer in their home file and paste them in Transfer. I then just go to the Send to Device button and it sends everything in my Transfer file to my Nuvi. Afterwards I use the "Remove from" to empty the Transfer file and it is ready for the next time I want to send something to my Nuvi.

    Hi, I am experiencing this problem with BaseCamp and my Garmin 60CSx. The method proposed by BOBSOFPA does not work for me (assuming I have correctly understood it).

    My intention was to copy a small number of waypoints from BaseCamp to the GPS device. I have a list folder called "Canada". Within this list folder I have lists called "Burlington", "Toronto", "puzzles" and so on.

    If I left-click on "puzzles", and then choose Send To Device -> Send 'puzzles' to Device it attempts to transfer all waypoints in the database, until the device says "Waypoint Memory Full".

    I then delete all the waypoints in the device and try again. This time I manually select the waypoints I wish to send, and choose Send to Device -> Send selection to device.

    Once again it tries to transfer the entire database to the device.

    I have not yet found a solution that allows me to transfer only the waypoints that I need.

    Can anyone help with this? Thanks in advance.
