Deleting Data

Whilst it is easy enough to delete routes and favourites from my Zumo 660 I don't seem to be able to delete them from the "import" area of the satnav. i.e. where the data is placed prior to you importing it into routes and/or favourites.

I have tried a complete data clear by pressing the bottom right hand corner of the screen and then starting the satnav, but these files are still left in this area.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if this has been covered a zillion times before.

Only way to delete that is to delete the gpx file containing them. If you look in your GPX folder it will probably be named temp.gpx

Not quite sure how to find that? Is it in the 660? or do I need to do it via my computer?

I'm having the same problem trying to clear the Import Data info from my Garmin 660 but I cannot figure out how to do so. I don't understand what is meant in Reply #2 by "delete the gpx file containing them. If you look in your GPX folder it will probably be named temp.gpx".

Can you give a few more basic details i.e. do I need to connect the gps to the computer first; where do I find the "temp.gpx" file; what do I do after I delete the "temp.gpx" file etc.

Yes. Connect to your PC. Delete the files in the GPX folder. Then boot your GPS and delete the data you want to delete. It should then be gone permanently.

Using JaVaWa Devicemanager might be useful (includes a tool to remove all gpx files + instructions)
