Trouble importing waypoints to Basecamp - Oregon 450

Pretty sure I sued to be able to do this.

Start Basecamp, plug in Oregon. Imports tracks BUT NOT waypoints.??

I have heaps of waypoint but I cant see them in Basecamp (or Google Earth).

Under "devices" in Basecamp I see my Oregon 450 then a folder saying internal storage but on the tracks are shown?

What am I missing?

Sorry. Faulty memory. I don't use BC often. In fact you want your Oregon to be in mass-storage mode to work with BC.

The Oregon x50 models have two modes. The first is mass-storage mode (the default) but there is also Spanner mode which allows the unit to operate and use the Garmin USB protocol to communicate (transfer data)

If your unit is being assigned a drive letter (e.g. E: ) it's in mass-storage mode. Disconnect the unit and go to

Setup -> System -> Interface

and select "Garmin Spanner".

Reconnect the unit and select No when prompted to enter USB mass-storage mode.

Have you got anything selected for the "Data filters" (on the bottom left, underneath the list).
This has icons for waypoints, routes, tracks etc. If you have one of these options selected, it will only show this type of object. The left hand icon will show all data.

Look in the \Garmin\GPX folder on your Oregon. There should be one or more GPX files in there.

BTW the Oregon does NOT store everything in a Current.gpx file like many other models.

\Garmin\GPX\Current\Current.gpx contains recorded tracks (but nothing else)

\Garmin\GPX\ contains one or more GPX files that contain waypoint(s). Deleting a GPX file will delete the waypoint(s) within it from the unit.
